Bunlar\u0131n i\u00e7erisinde hi\u00e7biri 1955 y\u0131l\u0131nda\nAlmanya\u2019da in\u015fa edilen M\/V \u0130zmir gemisi kadar sevilmedi. Belki beyaz boyal\u0131\ng\u00f6vdesi, modern g\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fc\u015f\u00fc, i\u00e7 dekorasyonu bunda \u00f6nemli etken olmu\u015ftur. Deniz\nticaret filomuz i\u00e7erisinde en be\u011fenilen gemilerden biriydi. M\/V \u0130zmir 1955&#8217;te,\nAlmanya&#8217;da Bremenhaven\u2019de A. G. Weser Werk tezgahlar\u0131nda motorlu yolcu gemisi\nolarak in\u015fa edildi. M\/V Marmara ve M\/V Ege adlar\u0131 verilen iki karde\u015fi daha vard\u0131.\n68 birinci mevki, 68 ikinci mevki, 524 de turistik s\u0131n\u0131f yolcu ta\u015f\u0131ma\nkapasiteli olan M\/V \u0130zmir ve karde\u015fleri 6.042 groston\n3327 net ton 2154 dwt\u2019luktular. Boylar\u0131 122,65 metre,\ngeni\u015flikleri 17 metre\nsu kesimi ise 10 metre\nidi. 4.160 beygir g\u00fcc\u00fcnde MAN (Masch-Augsburg-N\u00fcrnberg) yap\u0131m\u0131 dizel motorlar\u0131\nvard\u0131. 16 deniz mili s\u00fcrat yapabiliyorlard\u0131 ve tek\nuskurluydular. Gemiler in\u015fa ettiren Denizcilik Bankas\u0131 T.A.O\nyetkilileri; \u201cBu gemiler sefere girdikten sonra g\u00fcverte yolculu\u011fu ortadan\nkalkacak, her yolcu en medeni \u015fartlar i\u00e7erisinde edecektir\u201d diye gazetelere\nbeyanat veriyorlard\u0131. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1956 y\u0131l\u0131n\u0131n Mart ay\u0131n\u0131n\nortalar\u0131nda bir g\u00fcn, yerel gazeteler, \u0130zmirlilere co\u015fku ile bir haber verdiler:\n\u201cBremen tersanelerinde yap\u0131m\u0131 tamamlanan \u0130zmir Vapuru, \u0130zmir Liman\u0131\u2019na geliyordu.\nO g\u00fcn limanda b\u00fcy\u00fck bir t\u00f6ren d\u00fczenlendi. \u0130lk kez bir vapura kentlerinin ad\u0131n\u0131n\nverildi\u011fini duyan \u0130zmirliler t\u00f6rene kat\u0131ld\u0131lar ve \u0130zmir Vapuru ilk yolcular\u0131n\u0131\nalarak \u0130stanbul\u2019a hareket etti. Bir gemi, ad\u0131n\u0131 ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 kentten ilk seferine\nba\u015fl\u0131yordu. Hakl\u0131 bir co\u015fkuydu ya\u015fanan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>M\/V \u0130zmir kaptan\u0131 Mehmet Tahir\nCanda\u015f, (1906 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130stanbul Sar\u0131yer\u2019de do\u011fdu.\nBaba ad\u0131 Murat idi. 1928 y\u0131l\u0131nda Y\u00fcksek Denizcilik Okulu\u2019ndan mezun oldu.\nM\u00fclaz\u0131m kaptan olarak T\u00fcrkiye Seyr-i Sefain \u0130daresi\u2019ne girdi. 1935 y\u0131l\u0131nda 4.\nkaptan oldu. Liman ve \u0130skeleler ve K\u0131y\u0131 Emniyeti Hizmetleri \u015eubesi M\u00fcd\u00fcr\nYard\u0131mc\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, Deniz Nakliyat Dairesi Reisli\u011fi Kabotaj \u0130skeleleri \u015eube M\u00fcd\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc\ng\u00f6revlerinde bulundu. 1943 y\u0131l\u0131nda Denizyollar\u0131 Akaryak\u0131t gemisi ba\u015f kaptan\u0131 ve\ni\u00e7 hat gemilerinde ikinci kaptan, 1947 y\u0131l\u0131nda ise kaptan oldu. 1966 y\u0131l\u0131nda\nG\u00fcverte Enspekt\u00f6r\u00fc olarak emekli oldu.) y\u00f6netiminde 2 \u015eubat Cuma\n1957 g\u00fcn\u00fc saat 14\u201900te, 244 yolcu alarak \u0130stanbul\u2019dan hareket etti. M\/V \u0130zmir\nnormal bir seyirle Narl\u0131dere a\u00e7\u0131klar\u0131na kadar geldi, gemi saat 10.00\u2019da \u0130zmir\nliman\u0131na girece\u011finden, b\u00fct\u00fcn yolcular haz\u0131rl\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 tamamlam\u0131\u015f ve g\u00fczel\n\u0130zmir\u2019in manzaras\u0131n\u0131 gemi g\u00fcvertesinden seyre haz\u0131rlanm\u0131\u015flard\u0131. Gemi, Yenikap\u0131\n\u00f6nlerine gelmi\u015f ve \u0130zmir K\u00f6rfezi\u2019nin giri\u015fini belirleyen Pelikan fenerlerinin\ni\u00e7ine girmi\u015fti. Bu s\u0131rada \u0130zmir\u2019den hareket eden ABD Bandral\u0131 Howell Lykes\n\u015eilebi de kendi rotas\u0131 \u00fczerinde, ayn\u0131 fenerlere tam yolla seyretmekteydi. \u0130zmir\nVapuru\u2019nun kaptan k\u00f6\u015fk\u00fcnde gemi s\u00fcvarisi Tahir Canda\u015f ile ikinci Kaptan H\u00fcseyin\nDereli, Amerikan \u015filebinin anormal seyri kar\u015f\u0131s\u0131nda 3 kez d\u00fcd\u00fck \u00e7ald\u0131lar ve\nuyarmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131lar. Ancak Amerikan \u015filebi yolunu de\u011fi\u015ftirmek \u015f\u00f6yle dursun,\ns\u00fcratini azaltmaya bile l\u00fczum g\u00f6rmedi. \u0130zmir Gemisi tam manas\u0131 ile bo\u011faza\ngirmi\u015f ve son iki fenerin aras\u0131na sokulmu\u015f durumdayd\u0131. Her iki gemi aras\u0131nda\n\u00e7ok az bir a\u00e7\u0131kl\u0131k kald\u0131\u011f\u0131 halde, normal rotas\u0131n\u0131 takip eden \u0130zmir gemisinin\ns\u00fcvarisi, Amerikan \u015filebinin kendilerine yol vermemesi ve bu arada herhangi bir\nemniyet tedbiri de almamas\u0131 \u00fczerine, derhal rotas\u0131n\u0131 de\u011fi\u015ftirip iskele y\u00f6n\u00fcne d\u00f6nd\u00fc.\nFakat bu defa \u00e7ok yak\u0131n bir mesafede bulunan Amerikan \u015filebi, rotas\u0131n\u0131\nde\u011fi\u015ftirdi ve sancak y\u00f6n\u00fcne d\u00fcmen k\u0131rd\u0131. \u0130\u015fte bu felaket demekti. Her iki\ngeminin de ayn\u0131 y\u00f6nde yol de\u011fi\u015ftirmi\u015f olmalar\u0131, bu \u00fcz\u00fcc\u00fc kazan\u0131n olmas\u0131na\nsebebiyet vermi\u015ftir. Kaza an\u0131nda Amerikan \u015filebi, \u0130zmir gemisinin sancak\ntaraf\u0131ndan do\u011frudan do\u011fruya makine dairesine bindirdi. Bu \u015fiddetli \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fma\nneticesinde durumun \u00f6nemini kavrayan ve \u0130zmir gemisinin bataca\u011f\u0131na kanaat\ngetiren Howell Lykes, \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fmadan sonra \u0130zmir Vapuru\u2019nun, bordas\u0131ndan\nayr\u0131lmayarak ve burnunu \u00e7arpt\u0131\u011f\u0131 yerden \u00e7\u0131karmayarak, M\/V \u0130zmir\u2019i gerisin\ngeriye s\u00fcr\u00fckleyerek Narl\u0131dere\u2019nin Derince Mevkii\u2019ndeki s\u0131\u011fl\u0131k alanda karaya\noturttu. Bu ani ve \u015fiddetli \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fma s\u0131ras\u0131nda\n\u00e7o\u011funlu\u011fu gemi g\u00fcvertesinde bulunan \u0130zmir\u2019in yolcular\u0131 bir anda birbirine\nkar\u0131\u015ft\u0131, y\u00fczlerce kad\u0131n, erkek ve \u00e7ocuk birbirine girerek feryada ba\u015flad\u0131lar.\nHerkes can\u0131n\u0131 kurtarmak i\u00e7in \u015fa\u015fk\u0131n bir vaziyette oraya buraya ko\u015fu\u015furken, bir\nyandan da gemi zabitan\u0131 gerekli \u00f6nlemleri almaya ba\u015flad\u0131 ve \u00e7ok seri bir \u015fekilde\ncankurtaran filikalar\u0131n\u0131 denize indirip yolcular\u0131 tahliye etmeye ba\u015flad\u0131lar.\nKaza yeri sahile \u00e7ok yak\u0131n oldu\u011fundan, b\u00fct\u00fcn sandal ve motorlar, bal\u0131k\u00e7\u0131lar\nkazazede \u0130zmir Vapuru\u2019nun yan\u0131na geldiler ve gemiden tahliye edilmekte olan\nyolcular\u0131 alarak sahile \u00e7\u0131karmaya koyuldular. Gemi telsizcisi de, bu durumdan\n\u0130stanbul\u2019u haberdar etmi\u015f ve kazay\u0131 telefonla \u0130zmir\u2019e de bildirerek yard\u0131m\ntalebinde bulunmu\u015ftu. Sahile \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131lan yolcular hen\u00fcz kazan\u0131n deh\u015fet ve\nkorkusundan s\u0131yr\u0131lamad\u0131klar\u0131 i\u00e7in \u015fa\u015fk\u0131n vaziyette, yava\u015f yava\u015f sulara\ng\u00f6m\u00fclmekte olan \u0130zmir Vapuru\u2019ndan g\u00f6zlerini uzun s\u00fcre ay\u0131ramam\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Olay\u0131 haber\nalan \u0130zmir Valili\u011fi derhal kaza yerine 3 k\u00f6rfez vapuru g\u00f6nderdi. Yard\u0131ma ko\u015fan\nvapurlardan biri, Bergama yolcu gemisiydi ve kadere bak\u0131n ki o da Bremen\u2019de, \u0130zmir\nVapuru ile ayn\u0131 tersanelerde daha 7 y\u0131l \u00f6nce in\u015fa edilmi\u015fti. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olay\u0131n duyulmas\u0131ndan sonra,\nPasaport \u0130skelesi\u2019nde mah\u015feri bir kalabal\u0131k toplanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. \u0130zmir Vapuru\u2019nda yolcu\nyak\u0131n\u0131 olanlar olay\u0131n deh\u015fetini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek, di\u011fer yandan da tan\u0131d\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131n\nak\u0131betini merak ederek Pasaport \u0130skelesi\u2019nde heyecanla bekliyorlard\u0131. Saat\n13.30\u2019da Bergama gemisi, ilk kafileyi Pasaport\u2019a getirdi. Tan\u0131d\u0131klar\u0131na ve\nakrabalar\u0131na kavu\u015fman\u0131n sevinci i\u00e7inde g\u00f6zya\u015f\u0131 d\u00f6kenlere kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k, bekledi\u011fi\ny\u00fczleri g\u00f6remeyenlerin olu\u015fturdu\u011fu h\u00fcz\u00fcn tablosu ise y\u00fcrek burkuyordu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0130zmir Vapuru\u2019na \u00e7\u0131kan\ngazeteciler ilk izlenimlerini gazetelerine \u015f\u00f6yle aksettiriyorlard\u0131: \u201cKazaya\nsebep olan \u015filep \u00e7arpt\u0131\u011f\u0131 yerde durmakta ve \u0130zmir Vapuru da kendisini sinesine\n\u00e7ekecek olan Narl\u0131dere koyunun mavi sular\u0131nda feci ak\u0131beti kendisine haz\u0131rlayan\n\u015filebe yaslanm\u0131\u015f durmaktayd\u0131. Kaptan k\u00f6\u015fk\u00fcn\u00fcn hemen birka\u00e7 metre gerisinde,\n\u0130zmir Vapuru\u2019na yanlamas\u0131na bindiren Amerikan \u015filebi, M\/V \u0130zmir\u2019in g\u00f6vdesini\nbir ka\u011f\u0131t gibi par\u00e7alayarak arka tarafa do\u011fru s\u0131y\u0131rm\u0131\u015f ve 4 metre kadar da geminin\nmakine dairesine girmi\u015f bulunuyordu. Saat 12.00\u2019de \u0130zmir Vapuru tahminen 45\nderece kadar sancak taraf\u0131na yatm\u0131\u015f durumdayd\u0131. \u0130zmir\u2019in tamamen devrilmemesi\ni\u00e7in iki r\u00f6mork\u00f6r s\u00fcrekli olarak iskele taraf\u0131ndan halatlarla \u00e7ekmeye ve\ndengesini sa\u011flamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131lar ama ba\u015far\u0131l\u0131 olamad\u0131lar. ABD \u015filebinin\nm\u00fcrettebat\u0131n\u0131 yemek salonunda kahve i\u00e7erken buldular. Hepsinin y\u00fcz\u00fcnden bu\nm\u00fcessif kazaya \u00fcz\u00fcld\u00fckleri belli olmakta idiyse de, gemi personeli olarak\nkazan\u0131n sorumlulu\u011fu bak\u0131m\u0131ndan hi\u00e7 de endi\u015fe etmedikleri seziliyordu. Bunun\nnedeni, olay meydana geldi\u011finde, bir T\u00fcrk k\u0131lavuz kaptan taraf\u0131ndan idare\nediliyor olu\u015flar\u0131yd\u0131. Gemi\npersonelinin t\u00fcm \u00e7abalar\u0131na ra\u011fmen, kumanyac\u0131 Kadir T\u00fczer\u2019i de kurtarmak m\u00fcmk\u00fcn\nolmam\u0131\u015f, zavall\u0131 gen\u00e7 de, kumanyal\u0131kta kalarak can vermi\u015fti. \u0130ki Kadir\u2019in\nkaderi burada kesi\u015fmi\u015fti. Ayr\u0131ca \u00f6\u011fle yeme\u011fine ekmek \u00e7\u0131karmak i\u00e7in f\u0131r\u0131n\u0131\n\u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131ran gemi ekmek\u00e7isi Enver Akkoyunlu da i\u00e7eri dolan sularda bo\u011fularak\n\u00f6lm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc.\u201d Kaza s\u0131ras\u0131nda makine dairesinde g\u00f6revli olan \u0130kinci \u00c7ark\u00e7\u0131 Ya\u015far\n\u00d6zdeno\u011flu kazadan sonra \u015funlar\u0131 s\u00f6yledi: \u201cGemi korkun\u00e7 bir \u00e7arp\u0131\u015fman\u0131n tesiri\nile sars\u0131ld\u0131. Bir \u015feye \u00e7arpt\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z\u0131 anlad\u0131\u011f\u0131mdan tam yol tornistan yapt\u0131m.\nSancak taraf\u0131ndan su girdi\u011fini g\u00f6r\u00fcnce kar\u015f\u0131 taraf\u0131 kontrol etmek \u00fczere o\ntarafa ge\u00e7tim. Bu s\u0131rada makine dairesini sular bast\u0131, y\u00fczerek kendimi\nkurtarmak istedi\u011fim s\u0131rada seyir jurnali akl\u0131ma geldi ve derhal d\u00f6n\u00fcp yine\ny\u00fczerek seyir jurnalini kurtard\u0131m. Denizcilik Bankas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n\nen yeni \u00fc\u00e7 gemisinden biri olan \u0130zmir Vapuru da sulara g\u00f6m\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc. D\u00f6nemin bir\nyazar\u0131n\u0131n deyimi ile \u201cDenizcilik i\u015fletmesinin bir ya\u015f\u0131ndaki gemisi,\nmemleketimizin \u00f6v\u00fcnece\u011fi en k\u0131ymetli vapurlar\u0131ndan biri olan M\/V \u0130zmir gemisi\nart\u0131k bir hat\u0131ra\u201d idi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Geminin bat\u0131\u015f\u0131yla ilgili\nsoru\u015fturma, gazeteleri aylarca \u00f6nemli bir konu olarak me\u015fgul etti. Geminin 11\nmilyon 500 bin liraya sigortal\u0131 olu\u015fu, Frans\u0131z sigortac\u0131lar\u0131n da \u0130zmir\u2019e\ngelmesine yol a\u00e7m\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Oysa \u0130zmir Vapuru\u2019nun kaptan\u0131 sadece 1,5\nnumara hipermetroptu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0130zmir Vapuru facias\u0131n\u0131n yarg\u0131\ns\u00fcreci y\u0131llarca s\u00fcrd\u00fc ve sonunda da hi\u00e7 kimse mahkum olmad\u0131. Ba\u015flarda \u0130zmir\nVapuru\u2019nu y\u00f6neten Tahir Kaptan su\u00e7land\u0131ysa da, mahkeme kimin su\u00e7lu oldu\u011funa\nkarar veremedi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Denizcilik Bankas\u0131 T.A.O\nyetkilileri M\/V \u0130zmir\u2019in ak\u0131betini tart\u0131\u015fmaya ba\u015flad\u0131lar. Kaptan Serra ve arkada\u015flar\u0131 olarak tarihe ge\u00e7en bu ekip, \u0130zmir\nVapuru\u2019nu \u00f6nce denizin dibinde tamir ettiler ve tekrar do\u011frulttular. G\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fmeler neticesinde meselenin sulh yolu\nile halledilmesine karar verildi 500 bin T\u00fcrk Liras\u0131 kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131nda sulh olundu.\nDenizcilik Bankas\u0131 T.A.O yetkilileri yapt\u0131rd\u0131klar\u0131 teknik inceleme sonucunda\nM\/V \u0130zmir\u2019in tamir edilmesi hususuna karar verdiler. Hemen \u0130haleye \u00e7\u0131k\u0131ld\u0131.\n\u0130haleye 5 firma kat\u0131ld\u0131. \u0130hale neticesinde \u015fartnameye uygun ve en d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck teklifi\nM\/V \u0130zmir\u2019i in\u015fa eden A. G. Weser Werk firmas\u0131n\u0131n\nverdi. Bu s\u00fcre i\u00e7erisinde gerekli incelemeler ve sigorta m\u00fcfetti\u015flerinin\n\u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131ndan sonra, \u0130zmir Vapuru d\u00fcnyaya geldi\u011fi yer olan Bremen\u2019e\ng\u00f6t\u00fcr\u00fcld\u00fc.
