T\u00fcrkiye\u2019nin elinde ki mevcut gemiler\nekonomik \u00f6m\u00fcrlerini tamamlam\u0131\u015ft\u0131. 1930 y\u0131llar\u0131n sonlar\u0131na do\u011fru ufukta yeni\nyeni bir d\u00fcnya sava\u015f\u0131n\u0131n patlayaca\u011f\u0131 haber veren karabulutlar \u00e7o\u011fal\u0131rken bir\nyandan donanmam\u0131za yeni sava\u015f gemileri kazand\u0131rmak i\u00e7in sarf edilen \u00e7abalar\u0131n\nyan\u0131nda ticaret filomuzu da gen\u00e7le\u015ftirmek i\u00e7in \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaya ba\u015flanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Almanya\nile yap\u0131lan bir anla\u015fma ile 11 adet yeni gemi yap\u0131lmas\u0131 hususunda anla\u015fma\nimzalanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Yeni in\u015fa ettirilecek gemilerin en b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00fc\u00e7 gemi ki bunlar Do\u011fu,\nSava\u015f ve \u015ealom adlar\u0131 verilecekti. Etr\u00fcsk,Kade\u015f ve T\u0131rhan ile Marmara hatt\u0131nda\n\u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lmak \u00fczere yapt\u0131r\u0131lan Trak Sus ve Marakas Denizyollar\u0131 i\u00e7in yeni in\u015fa\nolarak yapt\u0131r\u0131lan ilk gemilerdi.
