Uzunlu\u011fu 70 metre, geni\u015fli\u011fi 8,5 metre, draft\u0131\n3,4 metredir. \u0130n\u015fa edildi\u011fi tersanede imal edilmi\u015f Compound (stimli) 2 si\u00adlindirli\nbir buhar makinesi vard\u0131. 1,070 groston, 688 net tondur. Gemi, merkezi Marsil\u00adya&#8217;da\nbulunan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com.tr\/search?hl=tr&amp;tbo=d&amp;biw=1280&amp;bih=858&amp;spell=1&amp;q=Armenien-Marocaine&amp;sa=X&amp;ei=wXnUUIOSCIOC4gTvi4HIBg&amp;ved=0CCoQBSgA\"><strong><em>Armenien<\/em><\/strong>-Marocaine<\/a> adl\u0131 denizcilik\nkumpanyas\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan 47 y\u0131l boyunca aral\u0131ks\u0131z \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lm\u0131\u015f, sonra, 1921&#8217;de Ce\u00admal\nBey ile J. Hrisofos adl\u0131 bir Yunanl\u0131n\u0131n ortakla\u015fa sahip olduklar\u0131, merkezi\nBeyrut&#8217;ta bulunan bir \u015firkete sat\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ad\u0131 da de\u011fi\u015ftirilerek Cezayir\nanlam\u0131na gelen <em>&#8220;Algene&#8221; <\/em>olarak de\u011fi\u015ftirilmi\u015ftir. \u0130ki y\u0131l sonra\nise Ce\u00admal Bey, orta\u011f\u0131n\u0131n hisselerini sat\u0131n alarak geminin b\u00fct\u00fcn\u00fcne sahip\nolmu\u015ftur. H\u0131z\u0131 9 mildir. \u0130stanbul Liman \u015eirketi\ntaraf\u0131ndan 1926 y\u0131l\u0131nda 13,760 TL kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131nda sat\u0131n al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u00d6nce <em>&#8220;Angora&#8221; <\/em>ad\u0131\nverilmi\u015f, sonra bu ad millile\u015fme ak\u0131m\u0131 s\u0131ras\u0131nda <em>&#8220;Ankara&#8221; <\/em>olarak\nde\u011fi\u015ftirilmi\u015ftir. Bu g\u00fczel r\u00f6mork\u00f6r g\u00fcn olmu\u015f, arkas\u0131na ba\u011flad\u0131klar\u0131 kocaman\nkapkara mavnalar\u0131 s\u00fcr\u00fckleyip g\u00f6t\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015f, g\u00fcn olmu\u015f su dubalar\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7ekerek li\u00admanlardaki\ngemilere su ta\u015f\u0131m\u0131\u015f, sakal\u0131k yapm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. De Schelde tersanesinde\nyolcu ve y\u00fck gemisi olarak in\u015fa edilmi\u015ftir. 4.765 gros ton\u00adluk olup, 120 metre\nuzunlu\u011funda, 14 metre geni\u015fli\u011findeydi. 2.000 beygir g\u00fcc\u00fcnde buhar makinesi\nvard\u0131. En sert havalarda bile 12 mil\u00adlik bir h\u0131za eri\u015febiliyordu. \u00d6nceleri <em>&#8220;Rizdjani&#8221;\n<\/em>ad\u0131yla merkezi Rotter\u00addam&#8217;da olan bir denizcilik kumpanyas\u0131n\u0131n filosunda\nyer ald\u0131. 1926 y\u0131l\u0131nda T\u00fcrkiye Seyr-i Sefa\u00adin \u0130daresi filosunu b\u00fcy\u00fck ve rahat\nyolcu gemileriyle takviye etmek amac\u0131yla sat\u0131n al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Sivil\ndenizcili\u011fimize b\u00fcy\u00fck hizmette bulunan <em>&#8220;Ankara&#8221; <\/em>ad\u0131 \u00f6nce <em>&#8220;Angora&#8221;\n<\/em>konmu\u015fken, 1929&#8217;da <em>&#8220;Ankara&#8221; <\/em>olarak de\u011fi\u015ftirilmi\u015ftir.\nKaradeniz, Ege, Akdeniz&#8217;deki iske\u00adlelere d\u00fczenli posta seferleri yapm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.\nBenzeri <em>&#8220;Ege&#8221; <\/em>ile birlikte 1930&#8217;dan itibaren\n\u0130stanbul-\u0130zmir-\u0130skenderiye hatt\u0131nda be\u015f y\u0131l boyunca \u00e7al\u0131\u015farak ay-y\u01311d\u0131zl\u0131\nbayra\u011f\u0131m\u0131z\u0131 M\u0131s\u0131r sular\u0131nda da \u015ferefle dalgaland\u0131rm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ama her gemi gibi\nAnkara da giderek ya\u015flanm\u0131\u015f, art\u0131k s\u0131k s\u0131k uzun s\u00fcren bak\u0131mlara ihtiya\u00e7\ng\u00f6sterir olmu\u015f, varl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ancak daha esasl\u0131, daha b\u00fcy\u00fck onar\u0131mlarla s\u00fcrd\u00fcrmeye\nba\u015flam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Araya \u0130kinci D\u00fcnya Sava\u015f\u0131 girdi\u011fi i\u00e7in \u0130\u015fletme\u2019ye yeni gemi sat\u0131n\nal\u0131namam\u0131\u015f, ama sa\u00adva\u015f sona erip de d\u0131\u015f d\u00fcnyaya kapal\u0131 kalan kap\u0131lar aralan\u0131nca\n\u0130\u015fletme, filosunu yeni gemilerle gen\u00e7le\u015ftirmeyi ba\u015farm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amerika&#8217;dan\nsat\u0131n al\u0131nan yedi geminin aras\u0131nda bir tanesi vard\u0131 ki, \u00f6tekilere hi\u00e7\nbenzemiyordu. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc \u00f6tekiler gibi hem yolcu hem de y\u00fck ta\u015f\u0131mak i\u00e7in de\u011fil,\n\u00f6zellikle turist ta\u015f\u0131mak \u00fczere in\u015fa edilmi\u015fti ve y\u00fczer bir otel\u00adden farks\u0131zd\u0131.\nBu \u00e7ok g\u00fczel ve bi\u00e7imli gemiye <em>&#8220;Ankara&#8221; <\/em>ad\u0131n\u0131 uygun g\u00f6rd\u00fcler.\nEldeki ya\u015fl\u0131 ve yorgun <em>&#8220;Ankara&#8221; <\/em>1949&#8217;da <em>&#8220;\u00c7orum&#8221; <\/em>ad\u0131n\u0131 ald\u0131. 1949 y\u0131l\u0131n\u0131n 9 Temmuz\ng\u00fcn\u00fc Karadeniz postas\u0131na \u00e7\u0131kmak \u00fczere Tophane r\u0131ht\u0131m\u0131nda ba\u011fl\u0131 iken, ambar ve\nmakine dairesinde \u00e7\u0131kan yang\u0131n k\u0131sa zamanda b\u00fct\u00fcn gemiye yay\u0131l\u0131verdi. \u00d6nce\ngemici\u00adler, sonra yeti\u015fen Beyo\u011flu itfaiyesi yang\u0131n\u0131 bir t\u00fcrl\u00fc kontrol alt\u0131na\nalamad\u0131. Yolcular\u0131n denkleri, sepetleri, hur\u00e7lar\u0131, bavullar\u0131 \u00f6ylesine \u00fcst \u00fcste\ny\u0131\u011f\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131 ki, yolcular\u0131n tahliyesi de zaman\u0131nda ger\u00e7ekle\u015fti\u00adrilemedi. Sonu\u00e7:\n62 can kayb\u0131 oldu, 22 ki\u015fi de feci \u015fekilde yanarak yaraland\u0131. S\/S Ankara 1927\u2019de, Amerika Birle\u015fik Devletlerinin\nNewport News tezgahlar\u0131nda stimli kruvaziyer gemi olarak in\u015fa edilmi\u015ftir. 6.179\ngroston, 3.461 net tonluktur. 124,7 metre uzunlu\u011funda, 18,9 metre geni\u015fli\u011finde,\ndraft\u0131 9,3 metre 8.500 beygir g\u00fcc\u00fcnde iki adet buhar t\u00fcrbinl\u00fc ana makinesi\nvard\u0131. \u00c7ift uskur\u00adlu olup 19 mile yak\u0131n s\u00fcrat yapabiliyordu. \u00d6nce bir\nK\u0131z\u0131lderili kabilesinin ad\u0131 olan <em>&#8220;Iraquis&#8221; <\/em>ad\u0131yla Antiller\u2019deki\nirili ufakl\u0131 adalar aras\u0131nda turistik seferler yapm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u0130kinci D\u00fcnya Sava\u015f\u0131\npatlak verip de turistik se\u00adferlerin sonu gelince Donanma&#8217;n\u0131n hastane\ngemilerinden biri haline getirilmi\u015ftir. Kanl\u0131 sa\u00adva\u015flar\u0131n s\u00fcr\u00fcp gitti\u011fi Pasifik\nsular\u0131nda bulunmu\u015ftur. Bin\u00adlerce yaral\u0131, iki yan\u0131nda kocaman birer k\u0131rm\u0131z\u0131 Ha\u00e7\nboyanm\u0131\u015f bu hastane gemisinde ameliyat edilmi\u015ftir, bir o kadar\u0131 da bu gemiyle\nSan Francisco&#8217;ya ta\u015f\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. 25 binden fazla Amerikan askeri, hayatta\nkalmalar\u0131n\u0131 hep bu gemiye bor\u00e7\u00adludur! Ama 1948&#8217;de ad\u0131 <em>&#8220;Solace&#8221; <\/em>olarak\nde\u011fi\u015ftirilerek sat\u0131\u015fa \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131l\u00adm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. 1949 y\u0131l\u0131nda Deniz Yollar\u0131\u2019n\u0131n ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu\nzarif gemiye, <em>&#8220;Ankara&#8221; <\/em>ad\u0131 verilmi\u015ftir. <em>&#8220;Ankara&#8221;,\n<\/em>bizde yap\u0131lan bir tadilatla, 25 adet l\u00fcks mevki, 89 adet birinci mevki, 40\nadet ikinci mevki, 5 adet de turistik kamaras\u0131 olan rahat ve g\u00fczel bir yolcu\ngemisi haline getirilmi\u015ftir. Toplam 259 kamaras\u0131 yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Geminin yolculara\nayr\u0131lan k\u0131sm\u0131, t\u00fcm hacminin % 80&#8217;ine yakla\u015f\u0131yordu ki, bu oran ba\u015fka\ngemilerimizde y\u00fck de ta\u015f\u0131d\u0131klar\u0131 i\u00e7in bu rakam\u0131n hayli alt\u0131ndayd\u0131.
